As I stated earlier, this framework can be applied to any career choice or enterprise. For those of you who are already in a career or business, you will know how to have a ‘quick start’ and define success for yourself.
This 7 Step process will help you to address questions critical to your personal and business success. Draft your responses to this set of questions for each step and make this a ‘living’ document, meaning you will continually revise and update it, as your thoughts develop.
Step 1: Sense of Purpose, Vision, Core Values and Beliefs, and Strategies for life including your career.
- Why am I selecting this career or business as my personal vehicle for success?
- What is it about the company, the product, the leadership, the market, and the timing that tells me this is the right and best decision for me?
- When I look at where I want to be, having been successful through this career, what do I see?
- What will be my indicators for success- earnings, investments, lifestyle, health, relationships- to name a few?
Describe each one of these indicators in as much detail as possible to make them real and tangible to you. These will become your guideposts for measuring your success through this business.
